Blog Post #18 USING GOOGLE PHOTOS IN MY 5TH GRADE CLASSROOM

     Choosing Google Photos today, my 5^th grade students will search for pictures that are in the wild life and also some domestic ones. This year, I will like to try new forms to capture new activities in my 5^th grade classroom. As a math and science teacher I want to keep my classroom positive and happy, so I thought I would attach some technology ideas into the learning to make my students build self-character and self-esteem. I love Google Pictures, and I would select wild life characters and their science evolution.

     The students will create their own albums and share their customs and forms of living, also choose their favorite animals that they prefer. The students will collect pictures from the website and start working on their own albums. To help my students to dig on the subject matter, they need to collect pictures of their favorite wild animals, and start sharing pictures with the rest of the class.

     My 5^th grade students will learn how to save their pictures in their albums and kept them forever. At the same time Google Photos I will capture daily events that occur during special days, and later share with the rest of the classroom.

      I also like Flicker, because my students and me will use to publish and use images online. However, in order to use Flicker is necessary to use Yahoo link there is no way to use other link. What happened with Google Photos is that I can store more than a million of pictures and save it in my album forever. Other important tool is to create a collage that I believe my students can do it with their favorite ones. I am exited to start my science project and look all the photos about wild life, keeping all the albums about the wild life will be a lot of fun and share the albums of my students will be amazing.

     Todays the online Google Photos will manage the world history and maintained organize and retrieving online pictures in a form that my students can easily acquire visualization. In the meantime existing matter base image recovery technique apply pattern recognition, and computer data techniques will be a bridge for my students to achieve professionally in the real world. Images today are very handy and can express all the content about the science project activity so lets move on. If my students wants to write a novel after retrieving their images, they can start writing and do other homework that the Google Photo website will be please to assist and have all powerful tools that are necessary for anyone to handle.

Tailored Preparation   

Some times during the week, Judy Murphy a teacher at Burncoat Middle School, at Massachusetts, take her students to the computer lab to use programs that allow her students to practice and receive tutoring. Other teachers tailored programs specifically for math subject matter. Finally, if teachers continue finding forms and include technology their students will be better achievers and their teachers can promote new forms so no child will be left behind.

Core in Action:  Math in the Middle School

     Line up teaching to encounter the “Common Core State Standards” is the new custom for teachers thru most of the USA. In the middle school mathematics schoolroom, technology can be charity to help scholars grasp mastery of these Common Core abilities. This article expressed that sixth grade mathematics are using technology and exploring new forms of skills, and teachers are promoting engagement through scholars centered exploration.

Using Technology to Teach

        When teachers wants their students to pay attention and grab since the beginning. It is necessary to start finding sources from the internet for example; videos that are powerful and facilitate the lecture and also new materials open discussion and summarizing particular topic.

     This article expressed that Khan Academy is a wonderful source and that is free, and has a high impact video and that serve as a tutorial. However, contained a numerous of subject tutorials for everyone who need it.

     In order to find this important source is necessary to reach, Khan Academy that has a section about Perimeter, and also can help students to find and solve geometric problems.

Social bookmarking week #12

     In my 5^th grade classroom my students will be preparing a Science Fair Project for the year 2017. They will create an account in order to be able to access the “Live Binder” online system that will help them to create their own Science Project to presented in the year 2017 and be able to explain all about the planet system.

     The students will create an account and learn how to become members and have their own personal emails to start looking for sources about the Solar System

      Secondly: the students when creating their own accounts will receive free tutorials about the form in how to upload pictures, videos and links that will copy and past in the “Live Binders” online format.

      Thirdly: My students will be ready to start collecting data about their Science Fair Project. Also they will start their own projects using new names and colors they want to generate new ideas and creating new asthenosphere that will include arts and crafts if possible into their Science Projects.

       As a technology, mathematics and science teacher: I expect my students learn about different forms that are now online free and not free to acquire experience and create a “Evernote” tab so they can insert links from goggle.

       Research: Students can use “Live Binders “to add website links into their notes. At the same time-share comments about other projects that they have in mind with other classmates and received feedback from teachers and parents.

       Upload: Videos and pictures into their “Evernote” online books and create and collaborate with news that are about the students and classmates interest.

       In my lesson plan my students will enjoyed every step and move using their tablets, smartphones, and any other device. They can watch videos from other classmates and share emotions that allow them to continue researching for the rest of their lives.

       The fun part of this assignment will be that my students will kept their portfolios and shared with anyone who wants to become future engineers or looking for a career in the Education field.

       I also can use other important online system that permit my students grow in any field they want and create also books that can be published when ever they want to become writes and famous.  I desire to use technology and math in my education field is part of the adventure and is and emotional form to become very successful teacher.

My final Project:

         I will like to implement Youtube, Google Docs and Prezi: My students will do their final project about Wild life animals, they need the Youtube to capture videos about the wild animals around the world, also my 5th graters will use Goole Docs to organize their final projects, and use pictures and wild life animals and their places and forms of living. In Prezi, mu 5th grade students will create presentations about a single animal and write a bibliography about the life and form of existence, and the city where they belong. Using Youtube, Google  Docs and Prezi; will allow me to create a rubric to share with other colleagues in the same grade level and share the lesson plans in order to make our classrooms more easy and fun achievements.

     Another tool that I chose is Google Docs that is also to create a calendar that help me and my students pay attention on the deadlines. My students need special attention on their final Science Projects and bring to school all the documents about their special topic. The Google Docs tool will help me and my students to organize each procedure to make the assignment collaborative and acquire all the pictures and history to present in a correct form, in their power point and also documental videos.

     Teachers like me will like to be on time, using Prezi would allow me to confront all the different task that my students require for me to alert them.

Using calendar, rubrics and spreadsheet will be a tool of success in my profession and will help save time for other important meeting.

     The three tools will be important elements that I need to use during this year and the following unless someone implements something better. I believe as a teacher that this year is better than the last one, and with the help of software tools that are now free is easy to conduct and administer time and reduce risk of loosing grades and dates from the future in my classroom.

     I also want to help any teacher who needs help and express what are the most powerful Internet tools, in order to cash up and manage their time in an easy way.

I will invite future newcomers to engage in Google Docs and other important tools as well, I appreciate that I am learning a lot in this technology class the way teacher can administer their whole classrooms.

  

Problem Scenario wiki

Despite Jane having much experience teaching, her experience with technology is not on par. Since technology such as wiki has barely starting when she became a teacher. Now Jane is overwhelmed herself because she does not know how she can help the students do the equal amount of work. I think what Jane is missing is that she needs to monitor the groups more frequently. The way you can do this, is by always asking questions such as how things are going, and what problems have they come up in the middle of the lesson, as well as create a discussion to see how the other groups are doing. This will help because the students will se how the other groups are doing, and will encourage them to do better. I think they need to feel a certain level of competition so they can get things done. Also one thing that isn’t mentioned but is rather important is the group sizes. I think that using Wiki sites at 6^th grade is too much for 12-year-old students. I think that the reason they are having issues is that some students feel comfortable using wiki and the others don’t. This would explain how she found only one student working on wiki and the rest of the group was not making any cooperation.  If wiki is to be used in this grade level, the instructor needs to lead the classroom, as well as make the groups with 2 people only. This will ensure that the students stay focused and are less pressured by other students in the group. I think that the teacher will be able to instruct the students if they are in a group of two. Using wiki can help the teacher understand how well the class is going. I think that it is amazing how she realized the classroom groups were not at the same level, and that how different each group was working. The issue is now to fine tune where the students are doing wrong and maybe by simply changing up the teams you can have better results. I think that despite my opinion that Wiki being too much for a sixth grade class, I think that good results can still come from it. The children in my opinion are doing whatever they please because the instructor is not engaging with the students as much as it is needed. The students need to see the instructor approach the students so that they can see where they are doing right and wrong.  I don’t think the teacher should feel disappointed on her findings, she simply should gather the findings and work into making improvements from there. Being a sixth grade class she should be very proud that even some of the students are able to use wiki, now what I would do is have those that know how to use it work with the students that struggled, and those that made the presentation look “pretty” integrate them in the groups that were accurate so they could make the wiki presentations look professional.
