twitter in education

Twitter is one of the largest social networking platforms on the planet. We can follow alot of famous people and their thoughts on certain issues easily by subscribing to them to see what they post on a daily basis. In education however, we do not see a large audience that are sharing articles or twitter posts regularly. This is where the hashtag comes in. The hashtag is a symbol that can link your post, to other similiar posts in twitter by clicking the hashtag. This is a very powerful tool to have because you could be doing research and by having your own hashtag you can see other posts that are similar to others so you can see the research and thoughts of others. For educational purposes hashtags that I would use would be the following:

#ntchat –New teacher chat
#vitalcpd-using technology in the classrom
#edtech –tweets related to tech in the classroom

I would use #NTchat because I would like to know the daily experiences teachers go through in the classroom. Also this would help me see the challenges that they go through daily, and how the teachers improve on a daily basis. This is very important because alot of teachers can benefit from how they deal with challenges in the classroom. This can greatly help the teacher not feel overwhelmed during the semester, and feel that they are part of a team. Aditionally, I will be using #vitalcpd because this would give me a sense of what technology other teachers use and have found effective to work in the classroom. Since I will be teaching 8th grade math, I would look for the technological tolos and experiences teachers have had with using technologies. Finally, I would be using #edtech to see what new technology was introduced in the classrooms, and how the students respond to it. Overall, twitter can help the teacher be more creative and share their findings with other teachers. We are not just teachers, we are scientists, and we must learn with students for them to grow into professionals.

Twitter for teaching and learning:

Twitter like I said is a very powerful social networking tool that has shown alot of strength in sales and advertising. With education I would not integrate it with just any classroom. I would integrate it with my 8th grade students in math, so that they can share daily challenges that they had in the math classroom, such as a mathematical problem. However, the way that twitter can help teachers is by using hashtags. Teachers often like working alone and are scientists because they sometimes do things by trial and error. There is nothing wrong with this. However, sometimes the teacher can become frustrated and students can be left behind. Twitter has the power to help the teacher take shortcuts in the classroom. The way it can do this is by connecting teachers with each other across the world. The instructor will be able to find the experiences that other teachers had when using certain technology for any subject, as well as understanding how the other teachers overcame challenges. This can be very motivating for the teacher, because he or she will be able to pin point where they are and what necessary steps to take in order to be successful in their classroom. This can be a little challenging but in order for this to work the teacher will have to use twitter and share with others the challenges they had. This way you can become a role model to other teachers, and you will be more motivated to work in your classroom.

Edmodo in education

Edmodo is a very powerful learning tool for students and teachers. The tool itself allows a professor/teacher to take over the classroom by assigning polls, homework, and tests. I think this is a tool that is designed for providing increased engagements between students and teachers. Ideally I think this would be more suitable for an 11th grade technology classroom. This is the grade I chose in my edmodo group design. I think that teachers since they are limited to 45 minutes, they will be able to appreciate Edmodo because of the tools it provides for grading and assignment creation. The thing that I liked more about edmodo is the ability to create polls, and upload custom content. I think that if you do not find what you are looking for in edmodo you can always go back and add your own things. Also another powerful feature it has is the way you can set up notification, this can serve as a reminder to your students of when things are due so they do not forget. My second favorite feature of edmodo is the test creation tool, it is very similar to that of Google forms but it feels more professional and ideal for the classroom. Edmodo allows you to create multiple choice, true or false, or short answer. This is imperative because you can be creative with your tests and be able to make your students critical thinking so they can think outside the box while answering the tests. The poll feature is also a very good thing to have because it increases the level of engagement and participation in the classroom. This provides the perfect solution for 11th grade and beyond because teachers need to be more creative in their assignments to keep the level of interest high in the classroom. A teacher has many challenges, but the main challenge is time management. We used to have 90-minute lectures, and with this time we had room for trial and error. With classroom lessons being reduced to 45 minutes a teacher must use technology in order to save time in the classroom. Edmodo really does its job when it comes to saving the teachers time, overall I believe every teacher should use edmodo because it will make your lessons more efficient as well as students learning at a faster rate. It is a challenge to maintain a classroom engaged but overall Edmodo if used correctly will keep your classroom alive and learning.

http://www.universityherald.com/articles/44128/20161013/the-transforming-power-of-digital-technology.htm Educational Technology “The Technology and Education:

The Transforming Power of Digital Technology” In this era of computational, is impossible to say no to a digital framework, and is necessary to be connected read, write and do mathematical problems. The article explained that today the virtual realism, robotic technology and other forms of intelligence, and technology that involve education is something that impact the education environment. The article expressed that the “World Economic Forum” the request for technology and computer services will last to rose by 20% by 2025. Furthermore, these innovated technologies will generate future million of jobs by 2020. However, today’s education & technology has been working to encounter new challenges to catch scholars prepared by that time. The article by Chris Brandt stated that universities like Stanford and Harvard are now the leaders that are digging on the way to open online degrees and courses to initiate their educational landscape and making the road clear. Few examples are being introduced at the Alternative Education and Pearson and in K-12, so teachers can learn and be able to understand how to use the software and make their scholars aware.  “Collaborating with community colleges to innovate educational technology".  Approximately few undergraduates in the USA this article said attend community college. Also serves a big portion belongs to a diverse group of scholars, community colleges are dangerous in connecting the work abilities gap, in endowing scholars to change to more time in the institutes, and in allowing chances for pathways that are out of the traditional forums. However community colleges arose an impersonate difficulty: the investigators asking questions on how the scale can help to make better chooses for scholars that have problems and want to achieve the quality in their education programs. Google drive for education

Google drive is great for education; Google drive is an important tool for my 5th grade classroom. At the same time, I can use it for texting and editing assignments and use it for surveys and to benefit my student knowledge. Here is the three Google drive tools that I chose; first Google Docs so the students will open a document and ask students to finish the sentence “I like mathematics because help me….” The students can add their answers and share their ideas with other classmates so they can learn more about each other. The idea is to create a social community.
The second tool that I pick up is Google Slides activities to add amazing presentations so the students cooperate effectively for example; shared presentations using links that has images to find interesting ideas to add it into their story formats also add videos that contained environments to make it awesome.
The third tool that I would chose is Google Forms because offers forms that would help me and my students to acquire results. My students will collect data and use graphs to help them understand for example; how much people are using a webcam in their own houses and become experts in the graphing designs.
My mission as a teacher is to become an expert so I can persuade my students that are necessary to use Google Drive in their every day assignments. Google Drive is a free place  to navigate and become familiar  with basic tools and start creating new functions that make the teachers and students work fast and furious.
Google Docs; is a tool that is like Microsoft Word
Google Slides; is like a Power Point tool
Google Forms; is a Survey Monkey
However, Google Drive is not a tool so you can reserve stuff, is a place to create ideas and more. I chose the above Google tools, because I like to create different forums to expand the abilities of my fifth graders and make my life easy. I invite you to use it because has the tools to administer your classroom activities and collaborate in the every day testing and you can alginate in the education system. Is not hard to learn it, but you can start today and practice in order to capture the whole technological idea. I belie that is fantastic that has the platform that anybody in also upper level students can use it in their professional workplace. It is great for the students and families can practice together.
